Scholarship Program

Purpose:

The First Congregational Church of Winona scholarship program exists to assist financially those qualified individuals seeking to attend an accredited institution of higher learning. The FCC Scholarship Fund serves as the primary recipient of gifts and bequests of members and friends who wish to leave monies to assist students in their education.

First Congregational Church of Winona annually awards scholarships to college age students, either the students or parents need to be church members.

 

Criteria:

The criteria for the scholarships are as follows:

1.  Preference is given to a student who has attended at least one year of post-secondary education.

2.  Preference is given to students who have not received the scholarship in previous years.

     Previous recipients may re-apply for the scholarship.

3.  Scholarship dollars will be directed to the college/university that the recipient is attending. 

 

Memorial Committee/Funds:

 

The Memorial Committee administers the plan, and asks for applications beginning in June.  Scholarship application forms may be picked up in the church office.

 

Scholarship funds of the First Congregational Church of Winona were established by generous church members or by their heirs, as memorials. We are grateful to members who have included the church in their estate plans.

 

The Memorial Committee encourages members to make special gifts to the First Congregational Scholarship fund to ensure that we can continue to help our youth. Your gift will make a real difference in the lives of our students.
